The kids left today for school. They will only be there an hour today, but I noticed something in the house after they left. And it was quite remarkable.
In their absence I have found... peace and quiet.
So much of it, in fact, there's enough here for me to fashion together some semblence of sanity again. And this year my precious twosome will be gone all day, every day. That means other than when I work, there will be this much peace and quiet every single day!
I feel like a human being again.
Tomorrow, as I launch them on the bus for their first full day of grade one and grade four, I think I'll skipping down the street back home.
Yup. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
